Post doctoral positions

Post doctoral positions may be available in the Lab depending of funding opportunities, and the background of the applicant. In addition, we are always interested in writing projects and seeking funds teaming up with motivated applicants.

Post doctoral research can be conducted in any of our area of interest, including host microbe interactions, intestinal physiology, intestinal disease, stem cell biology, cancer development, systems biology and modeling.

Applicants should contact us and include a CV, a brief statement of research, and contact details of three referees.

Informal inquiries are very welcome. Write to Pr. Buchon directly.

Graduate Students

We are looking to recruit highly qualified and motivated graduate students into our team. Students with an interest in genetics, immunology, stem cells, are encouraged to contact us. We aim to include a broad range of disciplines such as molecular and cellular biology, genetics, genomics, modeling, in an integrative approach of Systems Biology.

Our lab hosts students from different Graduate fields:
                     The Graduate Field of Entomology
The Graduate Field of Genetics, Genomics and Development
The Graduate Field of Biomedical and Biological Sciences
                     The Graduate Field of Microbiology
Fields represent doctoral schools and impact mostly the training of the student, as well as the possibility of the student to do initial rotations between labs. Whatever the field, we aim to offer a broad training in a multidisciplinary and team-oriented environment. Specifically, our lab provides research training in genetics, genomics, microbiology, physiology and Systems biology.

All graduate applications must be submitted through the Cornell Graduate School, and final admission decisions are made by faculty committees in each Field. Application deadlines are typically in December, although they vary slightly by Field and from year to year. Mid-year applications are almost never considered. We advise you to contact us way in advance of that deadline !!!

Undergraduate Research

Laboratory work and research experience represent a great opportunity for students interested in pursuing in Doctoral School. Undergraduate students will work under the supervision of a more senior person in the lab. Previous work in a lab is not required, but we seek only highly motivated students.

Interested students should contact us directly.
